Practical Information

Fees

MPSE is a French university programme and the fees, which are very low, are those normally due when entering a French university. (Master 2 = around 220 €; DEEQA = around 350 € ; PhD = around 350 € per year).

Scholarships

European students have access to an array of grants or scholarships some of them being means tested. Foreign students may have access to some of them if they are residing in France or having done their studies there. If they are originating from and studying in a country other than France, scholarship facilities also exist through different EU mobility programmes or through the French Embassies (French Government scholarships) or via specific means of their university or country. Please apply directly to the scholarship department of your university or ask MPSE about French Government scholarships.

Language

The MPSE programme is a bilingual programme and all courses (except 2 in the Master in Economics of Environment) are taught in English, English being the international language of research today. Students can therefore attend courses in English but can produce their work in English or French. All faculty members are bilingual and can help students with language difficulty.
Foreign students wishing to improve their mastery of the French language can also follow a series of French language courses. It is expected that they have sufficient command of the language, at the end of the first year, to ensure their survival.

Services

All MPSE courses take place on the premises of the Manufacture des Tabacs. The library and the computer rooms can also be found there. As far as possible PhD students also have an office. The various secretariats, of MPSE and of the research centres, are also located there. MPSE students can gain access to all the services of Toulouse University, including the rich library of the University des Sciences Sociales, five minutes walk away.
A practical guide to student life in Toulouse, including all services (eating, housing, culture, sport, etc) can be supplied on request or be obtained on arrival at Toulouse.
